General Mills is Promoting a Food Fight?

Are you one of those people that has always wanted to have a food fight, but just never did because then you'd have to clean it up after?

Well lucky for you, General Mills has launched a new website that lets you have a food fight without any cleanup. It's actually really cool! I was amazed at the detail that went into the creation of this site. You start by picking your food, then you pick your opponent. Then you have to grab food off the website and try to hit the person who is running around the site throwing food and trash talking you. The cool part is that it is EXTREMELY realistic.

Go to www.thegoodfoodfight.com and check it out right now. Come back and tell me what you thought of it!

Coca Cola - A Class Act

Ever notice how Coca Cola ads are about Coca Cola and not about trashing Pepsi...unlike the Pepsi ads I might ad!

I like this commercial because it makes me feel good about drinking a Coke. Now I know I'm biased because I'm a huge Coke fan, but you can't watch this commercial without feeling good about life. I like commercials like that. I often notice how very few Coke ads really focus on drinking Coke...the brand is so popular and powerful that they can focus on the emotional appeal instead of only the product (although you do eventually see someone drinking a Coke).

What do you think? Does Coke make better commercials than Pepsi?

Does Girl Advertising Work?

Now I'm not a girl so maybe I have no business writing this post...but I really don't care because I like to give my opinion. This video is actually a new advertising agency that focuses on advertising to girls. They claim that all the ads out there targeting females now just "get the flip", which means girls don't like the ad and flip to the next page. They claim that if you hire their agency they will create ads for you that girls will really look at and focus on.

Do I believe them? No, I don't. Sure they go through some magazines and show ads that they don't like and have girls saying they don't like it either, but what I find funny is that they don't show ANY ads that actually prove what they can do. She spends over 6 minutes rambling on about how bad all the ads are, but not once do they show an ad they made that actually works. Surely they could have shown even ONE ad that proves they know what they are talking about.

So what do you think? Does girl advertising work or are these girls actually telling the truth? Oh, and 3iying girls, if you send me some of your ads you created that actually "work", I'll gladly post them on my site for you.
